Volvo S60L Hybrid 2015
Volvo Automaker has unveiled the new 2015 Volvo S60L Hybrid at 2015
Beijing Auto Show last week. Based on the standard S60L long wheelbase,
this model will become the first Volvo gasoline hybrid model that
specially designed for Chinese market only.
S60L Hybrid will be manufactured at Volvo’s factory in
Chengdu, China and will hit a regular-market for Chinese lineup in
early 2015. There is no plan to bring 2015 Volvo S60L Hybrid
or production version to the US market, but we have a good rumor say
that the S60 (standard wheelbase) will come to US with hybrid powertrain
in near future.
2015 Volvo S60L Hybrid Engine
S60L Plug-in Hybrid will be powered by a combination of a 2.0-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder Drive-E gasoline engine with front wheel
setup and an electric motors with 11.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
placed in the rear trunk and delivered the power to the rear wheel. The
2.0-liter engine is rated at 238 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of
torque while the electric motors will generates 68 horsepower and 147
lb-ft of torque. As results, the 2015 Volvo S60L Hybrid engine will delivers up to 306 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.
S60L electric motors will take about 4.5 hours for one time fully
charge with 230-volt power outlet. Furthermore, S60L can run
with electric powered alone up to 31 miles. Driver can choose three
driving model, including (Pure) mode for electric power alone, (Hybrid)
mode for a combination of gasoline and electric power depending on road
condition, and (Power) mode to make the hybrid engine delivers their
maximum potential power. For fuel consumption, Volvo S60L PHEV will
return up to 100 mpg depending on driving mode and road condition.
For the design, 2015 S60L Hybrid exterior styling is inspired by 2012
XC60 Plug-In Hybrid concept visual theme. S60L Hybrid Concept exterior
is painted with matte white crystal pearl color finished
with contrasting black/blue details. Volvo cut a charger port out of the
S60L’s front-left fender enhanced with subtle hybrid badges. 2015 Volvo
S60L Hybrid is stand on 17-inch seven-spoke wheels with blue accents.

Moving to the interior, 2015 Volvo S60L Hybrid will receive a modern
and luxury design with high quality material like hazelnut-colored
leather finished with contrasting stitching and Volvo’s “blond” wood
trim. The seat design, door. steering wheel and dashboard is wrapped
with leather while the center console come with wood trim. There is a
big size screen on the central console to display all about vehicle
information.
